[504] One who, believing, is resolved — therefore he is one resolved through faith (saddhādhimutto). One who realizes because he has contacted [it] — therefore he is a body-witness (kāyasakkhī). One who has attained because he has seen — therefore he is one attained to view (diṭṭhippatto). One who, believing, becomes resolved — therefore he is one resolved through faith. He first contacts the contact of jhāna, and afterwards realizes cessation (nirodha), Nibbāna — therefore he is a body-witness. There is the knowledge (ñāṇa): "Formations (saṅkhārā) are suffering (dukkha); cessation is happiness"; it is seen, known, realized, and contacted with wisdom — therefore he is one attained to view.
Whosoever have developed, are developing, or will develop renunciation (nekkhamma) … all of them are resolved through faith by means of the signless liberation (animittavimokkha), body-witnesses by means of the desireless liberation (appaṇihitavimokkha), and attained to view by means of the void liberation (suññatavimokkha). Whosoever [have developed, are developing, or will develop] non-ill will (abyāpāda) … the perception of light … non-distraction … .
Whosoever fully understand suffering, abandon its origin (samudaya), realize cessation, and develop the path (magga) — all of them are resolved through faith by means of the signless liberation, body-witnesses by means of the desireless liberation, and attained to view by means of the void liberation.
