[510] Through what seven aspects do the three liberations (vimokkha) occur in a single moment? In the sense of convergence (samodhāna), in the sense of attainment, in the sense of obtaining, in the sense of penetration, in the sense of realization, in the sense of touching, in the sense of comprehension (abhisamaya).
How, in the sense of convergence, in the sense of attainment, in the sense of obtaining, in the sense of penetration, in the sense of realization, in the sense of touching, in the sense of comprehension, do the three liberations occur in a single moment? One giving attention [to formations] as impermanent is released from the sign (nimitta): thus it is the signless liberation (animitta vimokkha). From whatever one is released, therein one does not aspire: thus it is the desireless liberation (appaṇihita vimokkha). Wherein one does not aspire, of that one is empty: thus it is the emptiness liberation (suññata vimokkha). In whatever respect one is empty, with regard to that sign one is signless: thus it is the signless liberation. Thus, in the sense of convergence, in the sense of attainment, in the sense of obtaining, in the sense of penetration, in the sense of realization, in the sense of touching, in the sense of comprehension, the three liberations occur in a single moment.
One giving attention [to formations] as suffering (dukkha) is released from aspiration (paṇidhi): thus it is the desireless liberation. Wherein one does not aspire, of that one is empty: thus it is the emptiness liberation. In whatever respect one is empty, with regard to that sign one is signless: thus it is the signless liberation. With regard to whatever sign one is signless, therein one does not aspire: thus it is the desireless liberation. Thus, in the sense of convergence, in the sense of attainment, in the sense of obtaining, in the sense of penetration, in the sense of realization, in the sense of touching, in the sense of comprehension, the three liberations occur in a single moment.
One giving attention [to formations] as not-self is released from adherence (abhinivesa): thus it is the emptiness liberation. In whatever respect one is empty, with regard to that sign one is signless: thus it is the signless liberation. With regard to whatever sign one is signless, therein one does not aspire: thus it is the desireless liberation. Wherein one does not aspire, of that one is empty: thus it is the emptiness liberation. Thus, in the sense of convergence, in the sense of attainment, in the sense of obtaining, in the sense of penetration, in the sense of realization, in the sense of touching, in the sense of comprehension, the three liberations occur in a single moment.
Through these seven aspects the three liberations occur in a single moment.
