[620] Which dhammas are supramundane (lokuttarā)? The four establishments of mindfulness (satipaṭṭhāna), the four right exertions (sammappadhāna), the four bases for success (iddhipāda), the five faculties (indriya), the five powers (bala), the seven factors of awakening (bojjhaṅga), the eightfold path (aṭṭhaṅgika magga), the four noble paths (ariyamagga), and the four fruits of the ascetic life (sāmaññaphala), and Nibbāna — these dhammas are supramundane.
"Supramundane": in what sense are they supramundane? They cross over the world (lokaṃ uttaranti), thus they are supramundane; they cross beyond from the world (lokato uttaranti), thus they are supramundane; they cross beyond from the world (lokā uttaranti), thus they are supramundane; they cross beyond from the world (lokamhā uttaranti), thus they are supramundane; they have fully transcended the world (lokaṃ samatikkantī), thus they are supramundane; they fully transcend the world (lokaṃ samatikkamantā), thus they are supramundane; they are surpassing in the world (loke atirekā), thus they are supramundane; they escape from the world (lokā nissaranti), thus they are supramundane; they escape from the world (lokato nissaranti), thus they are supramundane; they escape from the world (lokamhā nissaranti), thus they are supramundane; they relinquish the world (lokā nissajjanti), thus they are supramundane; they relinquish the world (lokato nissajjanti), thus they are supramundane; they are no resort of the world (lokassa agatī), thus they are supramundane; they are not the domain of the world (lokassa avisayā), thus they are supramundane; they are not shared in common with the world (lokassa asādhāraṇā), thus they are supramundane; they disgorge the world (lokaṃ vamanti), thus they are supramundane; they do not come back to the world (lokaṃ na paccāgamanti), thus they are supramundane; they abandon the world (lokaṃ jahanti), thus they are supramundane; they do not generate the world (lokaṃ na uppādayanti), thus they are supramundane; they unravel the world (lokaṃ visinenti), thus they are supramundane; they carry the world away (lokaṃ nayanti), thus they are supramundane; they dispel the world (lokaṃ vidhūpenti), thus they are supramundane; they do not fume up the world (lokaṃ na sudhūpenti), thus they are supramundane; having fully transcended and overcome the world, they stand (lokaṃ samatikkamma abhibhuyya tiṭṭhanti), thus they are supramundane.
