[628] What are the ten powers of a trainee (sekkhabala) and the ten powers of one beyond training (asekkhabala)? "One trains in right view (sammādiṭṭhi)" — thus it is a trainee's power; because one has trained therein, it is a power of one beyond training. "One trains in right thought (sammāsaṅkappa)" — thus it is a trainee's power; because one has trained therein, it is a power of one beyond training. Right speech (sammāvācā) … right action (sammākammanta), right livelihood (sammā-ājīva), right effort (sammāvāyāma), right mindfulness (sammāsati), right concentration (sammāsamādhi), right knowledge (sammāñāṇa) … "One trains in right deliverance (sammāvimutti)" — thus it is a trainee's power; because one has trained therein, it is a power of one beyond training. These are the ten powers of a trainee and the ten powers of one beyond training.
