[650] What is voidness of seeking (esanāsuñña)? The seeking of renunciation (nekkhamma) is void of sensual desire (kāmacchanda); the seeking of non-ill will (abyāpāda) is void of ill will (byāpāda); the seeking of the perception of light (ālokasaññā) is void of dullness and drowsiness (thīna-middha); the seeking of non-distraction (avikkhepa) is void of restlessness (uddhacca); the seeking of the defining of dhammas (dhammavavatthāna) is void of doubt (vicikicchā); the seeking of knowledge (ñāṇa) is void of ignorance (avijjā); the seeking of gladness (pāmujja) is void of discontent (arati); the seeking of the first jhāna is void of the hindrances (nīvaraṇa) … the seeking of the path of arahantship (arahattamagga) is void of all defilements (kilesa). This is voidness of seeking.
