"Indeed not. At the moment of the path of stream-entry (sotāpattimagga), Right View (sammādiṭṭhi) is the breakthrough of seeing (dassanābhisamaya) … Nibbāna, which merges in the deathless (amatogadha), is the breakthrough in the sense of being the culmination."
"Is the breakthrough only this much?"
"Indeed not. At the moment of the fruition of stream-entry (sotāpattiphala), Right View is the breakthrough of seeing … knowledge (ñāṇa) of non-arising is the breakthrough in the sense of tranquilization; zeal (chanda) is the breakthrough in the sense of being the root … Nibbāna, which merges in the deathless, is the breakthrough in the sense of being the culmination."
"Is the breakthrough only this much?"
"Indeed not. At the moment of the path of once-returning (sakadāgāmimagga) … at the moment of the fruition of once-returning, at the moment of the path of non-returning (anāgāmimagga), at the moment of the fruition of non-returning, at the moment of the path of Arahantship (arahattamagga), at the moment of the fruition of Arahantship, Right View is the breakthrough of seeing; Right Thought (sammāsaṅkappa) is the breakthrough of directing [the mind] onto (abhiniropana) … knowledge of non-arising is the breakthrough in the sense of tranquilization; zeal is the breakthrough in the sense of being the root … Nibbāna, which merges in the deathless, is the breakthrough in the sense of being the culmination.
