[7] The eye base (cakkhāyatana) is to be directly known; the form base (rūpāyatana) is to be directly known; the ear base is to be directly known; the sound base is to be directly known; the nose base is to be directly known; the odour base is to be directly known; the tongue base is to be directly known; the taste base is to be directly known; the body base is to be directly known; the tangible base is to be directly known; the mind base is to be directly known; the dhamma base is to be directly known.
