[71] What is development by repeated practice (āsevanābhāvanā)? Here a bhikkhu practices in the morning time, practices at midday time, practices in the evening time, practices before the meal, practices after the meal, practices in the first watch, practices in the last watch, practices by night, practices by day, practices by night and by day, practices in the dark fortnight, practices in the bright fortnight, practices in the rainy season, practices in the winter, practices in the summer, practices in the first stage of life, practices in the middle stage of life, practices in the last stage of life. This is development by repeated practice.
These are the four kinds of development (bhāvanā).
