[155] Setting forth like the hundred-rayed [sun] rising, like the golden-rayed sun,
like the moon on the fifteenth day — the Leader of the World:
Sixty-eight thousand, all of them ones whose taints (āsava) were destroyed,
surrounded him — the Sambuddha, the Lord of Bipeds, the Bull among Men.
Having swept that street, as the Leader of the World was setting forth,
I raised a flag aloft there with a mind full of confidence.
It was in the ninety-first aeon from this one that I raised that flag aloft;
I know of no bad destination: this is the fruit of the gift of a flag.
In the fourth aeon from this one I was a king of great power,
endowed in every respect, renowned by the name Sudhaja.
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā), and these eight liberations (vimokkha) too,
and the six superknowledges (abhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's teaching has been fulfilled.
Thus indeed the Venerable Elder Vīthisammajjaka spoke these verses.
The Apadāna of the Elder Vīthisammajjaka is concluded.
