When, as a seer (isi) dwelling in the forest, I was cutting grass for the Teacher,
all those blades, coiling rightwise, fell upon the earth.
Taking up that grass, I spread it upon the excellent earth;
and having then brought just three palm leaves,
I made a roof upon three staves and gave it to Siddhattha.
For seven days devas and human beings there held it up for the Teacher.
In the ninety-fourth aeon (kappa) from now, that I then gave grass —
I know of no bad destination (duggati): this is the fruit of the gift of grass.
In the sixty-fifth aeon from now there were four of great wealth,
wheel-turning monarchs (cakkavattī) of great might, endowed with the seven treasures (sattaratana).
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā), and also these eight liberations (vimokkha),
the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's teaching (sāsana) has been fulfilled.
Thus indeed did the Venerable Elder (thera) Tiṇasanthāradāyaka speak these verses.
The Apadāna of the Elder Tiṇasanthāradāyaka is concluded.
