I had a railing (vedikā) made for the Blessed One Siddhattha,¹ and I gave protection to the Well-Farer (sugata), the Great Seer (mahesi).
By that special deed (kamma) I see no fear and dread; wherever I have been reborn, no terror is found in me.
In the ninety-fourth aeon from now, since I had that railing made of old, I know of no bad destination (duggati): this is the fruit of the railing.
In the sixth aeon from now there was a wheel-turning monarch (cakkavatti) named Apassena, endowed with the seven treasures, of great power.
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā), and these eight liberations (vimokkha) too, and the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's teaching has been done.
Thus indeed the Venerable Elder Ārakkhadāyaka spoke these verses.
