[243] Formerly I was a great deer-hunter in the forest, in the woodland;
having seen that blood-red [earth] and taken it, I gave it to the Saṅgha.
It was in the ninety-first aeon (kappa) from now that I gave that gift;
I know of no bad destination (duggati): this is the fruit of the lump of red earth (tuvaraṭṭhi).
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā), and also these eight liberations (vimokkha),
and the six superknowledges (abhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's teaching (sāsana) has been fulfilled.
Thus indeed the venerable Elder Tuvaraṭṭhidāyaka spoke these verses.
