[42] Before the supreme stūpa (thūpa) of the Blessed One Siddhattha,
I hung² variegated cloths and set up a wish-fulfilling tree (kapparukkha).
¹ Ma. and Yu. read *cāruvaṇṇo va*. ² Ma. reads *lagetvā*; Yu. reads *laṅghetvā*.
Into whatever womb I am reborn — the state of a deva or of a human —
a wish-fulfilling tree stands at my door, adorning it.
And I and my company, and whoever were of equal years¹ with me —
taking cloth from that tree, we then² clothed ourselves.
In the ninety-fourth aeon (kappa) from now I set up that tree;
I know of no bad destination (duggati) — this is the fruit of the wish-fulfilling tree.
And in the seventh aeon from now there were eight khattiyas named Sucela,
universal monarchs (cakkavattī) of great might, endowed with the seven treasures.
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā), and also these eight liberations (vimokkha),
and the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's teaching has been fulfilled.
Thus indeed did the Venerable Elder Kapparukkhiya speak these verses.
The Apadāna of the Elder Kapparukkhiya is concluded.

Adhimutta, Lasuṇada, Āyātī⁴, Dhammacakkika,
