[103] Resplendent like a kakudha tree — the Deva of Devas (devadeva), the Bull of Men (narāsabha) —
as he was proceeding along the street, I then gave him a kosumba fruit.¹
In the thirty-first eon (kappa) from now, since I gave that fruit then,
I know of no bad destination — this is the fruit of the gift of fruit.

My defilements (kilesa) have been burned away; all existences (bhava) have been uprooted;
like an elephant that has sundered its bonds, I dwell free of taints (āsava).
Welcome indeed was my coming into the presence of my Buddha:
the three true knowledges (vijjā) have been attained; the Buddha's teaching has been done.
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā), and these eight liberations (vimokkha) as well,
and the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's teaching has been done.
Thus indeed the Venerable Elder Kosumbaphaliya spoke these verses.
The Apadāna of the Elder Kosumbaphaliya is concluded.
