[112] To Vipassī, the Blessed One, the eldest of the world, the steadfast one,
a single privy (vecca)¹ was given by me, full of confidence, with my own hand.
Elephant vehicles, horse vehicles, and divine vehicles did I obtain;
by that gift of a privy² I have attained the destruction of the taints (āsava).

In the ninety-first aeon from now — the privy that I gave then —
I know of no bad destination: this is the fruit of the gift of a privy.
My defilements have been burned away; all existences have been uprooted;
like an elephant that has severed its bonds, I dwell without taints.
Welcome indeed was my coming into the presence of my Buddha;
the three true knowledges (vijjā) have been attained; the Buddha's teaching has been done.
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā), and these eight liberations (vimokkha) too,
the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's teaching has been done.
Thus indeed did the Venerable Veccakadāyaka the Elder speak these verses.
The Apadāna of Veccakadāyaka the Elder is concluded.
