[25] In the city of Bandhumatī I was a gatekeeper;
I saw the stainless Buddha, gone to the far shore of all dhammas.
Taking a piece of sugarcane, I gave it to the supreme Buddha,
with a mind full of confidence, joyful, to Vipassī the great seer.
It was ninety-one aeons (kappa) from now that I then gave that sugarcane;
I know of no bad destination — this is the fruit of the piece of sugarcane.
My defilements (kilesa) have been burned up; all existences (bhava) have been extirpated;
like an elephant that has burst its bonds, I dwell free of taints (āsava).
Welcome indeed was my coming into the presence of my Buddha;
the three true knowledges (vijjā) have been attained; the Buddha's teaching has been done.
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā), and also these eight liberations (vimokkha),
and the six superknowledges (abhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's teaching has been done.
Thus indeed the Venerable Elder Ucchukhaṇḍika spoke these verses.
