[29] At that time I was a king of elephants, with tusks like chariot-poles, full-grown and mighty;
wandering through the great forest, I saw the Leader of the World.
Taking a cluster of mangoes, I gave it to the Teacher;
the Great Hero Siddhattha, the Leader of the World, accepted it.
While I gazed on, the Victor then partook of it;
having gladdened my mind (citta) there, I was reborn in Tusita.
Passing away from there, I became a wheel-turning monarch (cakkavatti);
in this same way I enjoyed attainments.
Resolute in striving (padhāna), I am at peace, free from acquisitions (nirūpadhi);
having fully understood all taints (āsava), I dwell without taints.
It was in the ninety-fourth aeon from now that I then gave that gift;
I know of no bad destination (duggati): this is the fruit of the gift of fruit.
My defilements have been burned up; all existences have been extirpated;
like an elephant that has sundered its bonds, I dwell without taints.
Welcome indeed was my coming into the presence of my Buddha;
the three true knowledges (vijjā) have been attained; the Buddha's teaching has been done.
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā), and also these eight liberations (vimokkha),
the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's teaching has been done.
Thus indeed the Venerable Ambapiṇḍiya Thera spoke these verses.
