[50] While the funeral pyres were being built,
and manifold fragrances had been gathered together,
with a mind of serene confidence, glad at heart,
I offered a handful of fragrance in worship.
Since I worshipped that pyre
a hundred thousand aeons from this one,
I know of no bad destination:
this is the fruit of worshipping the pyre.
My defilements (kilesa) have been burned away;
all existences have been utterly uprooted;
like an elephant that has sundered its bonds,
I dwell free of taints (āsava).
Welcome indeed was my coming
into the presence of my Buddha:
the three true knowledges (vijjā) have been attained;
the Buddha's teaching has been fulfilled.
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā),
and also these eight liberations (vimokkha),
and the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized;
the Buddha's teaching has been fulfilled.
Thus indeed the Venerable Gandhapūjaka Thera spoke these verses.
The Apadāna of Gandhapūjaka Thera is concluded.

Jagatī and Morahattha,
Āsani, Ukkadhāraka,
Akkami, Vanakoraṇḍi,
Chattada, Jātipūjaka;
and the Elder Sattipaṇṇiya,

reckoned by those of discernment.
