[61] I saw the Fully Enlightened One, of golden hue,
the recipient of oblations,
going along the edge of the great forest —
the Leader of the World.
Taking a garland of reed flowers
and setting out at that very moment,
there I saw the Fully Enlightened One,
who had crossed the flood (ogha), free from taints (āsava).
With a confident mind (citta), glad at heart,
I offered the reed garland in worship
to the Great Hero, worthy of offerings (dakkhiṇeyya),
compassionate toward all the world.
In the thirty-first aeon from now,
that flower¹ which I offered —
I know of no bad destination:
this is the fruit of worshipping the Buddha (buddhapūjā).
My defilements (kilesa) have been burned away;
all existences (bhava) have been uprooted;
like an elephant that has burst its bonds,
I dwell free from taints.
Welcome indeed was my coming
into the presence of my Buddha!
The three true knowledges (vijjā) have been attained;
the Buddha's teaching has been fulfilled.
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā),
and also these eight liberations (vimokkha),
the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized;
the Buddha's teaching has been fulfilled.
Thus indeed the Venerable Elder Naḷamāliya spoke these verses.
The Apadāna of the Elder Naḷamāliya is concluded.
