Abhidhammapiṭaka · Dhammasaṅgaṇī · Vol. 34 · Section 261

[261] Which phenomena (dhammā) are wholesome? On the occasion when one develops supramundane jhāna (lokuttaraṃ jhānaṃ) — leading out (niyyānika), conducing to the dismantling of rebirth (apacayagāmī) — for the abandoning of views (diṭṭhigata), for the attainment of the first plane (bhūmi): quite secluded from sensual pleasures … one enters upon and dwells in the first jhāna, painful in mode of practice and quick in direct knowledge (dukkhāpaṭipadaṃ khippābhiññaṃ) — on that occasion there is contact (phassa) … there is non-distraction (avikkhepa) … These phenomena are wholesome.
