That nose (ghāna) which is the sensitivity (pasāda) derived from the four primary elements (mahābhūta), included in one's own person (attabhāva-pariyāpanna), invisible (anidassana), and impinging (sappaṭigha); by which nose, invisible and impinging, one smelled, or smells, or will smell, or may smell an odor (gandha) that is invisible and impinging — this too is the nose, this too is the nose sense base, this too is the nose element (ghānadhātu), this too is the nose faculty (ghānindriya), this too is a world, this too is a door, this too is an ocean, this too is the lucid (paṇḍara), this too is a field, this too is a basis (vatthu), this too is the near shore, this too is an empty village.
