[727] Therein, what is the fetter of envy (issāsaññojana)? That which, with regard to the gain, honor, respect, esteem, salutation, and worship of others, is envy (issā), the act of envying, the state of enviousness, jealousy (usūyā), the act of being jealous, the state of jealousness — this is called the fetter of envy.
