[872] Therein, what is purity of morality (sīlavisuddhi)?
Non-transgression (avītikkama) by body, non-transgression by speech, non-transgression by body and speech — this is called purity of morality.
All moral restraint (sīlasaṃvara), too, is purity of morality.
Therein, what is purity of view (diṭṭhivisuddhi)?
Knowledge (ñāṇa) of the ownership of kamma (kammassakatañāṇa), knowledge in conformity with the truths (saccānulomikañāṇa), the knowledge of one endowed with the path (magga), the knowledge of one endowed with fruition (phala).
