[871] Therein, what is accomplishment of virtue (sīlasampadā)? Non-transgression by body, non-transgression by speech, non-transgression by body and by speech — this is called accomplishment of virtue. All restraint of virtue (sīlasaṃvara), too, is accomplishment of virtue.
Therein, what is accomplishment of view (diṭṭhisampadā)? "There is what is given, there is what is offered, there is what is sacrificed; there is fruit and result of actions (kamma) well done and ill done; there is this world, there is the other world; there is mother, there is father; there are beings spontaneously reborn (opapātikā); there are in the world ascetics and brahmins of right conduct and right practice who, having realized this world and the other world for themselves by direct knowledge (abhiññā), make them known" — whatever wisdom (paññā), understanding, … non-delusion, investigation of dhammas (dhammavicaya), right view (sammādiṭṭhi) there is of such a kind: this is called accomplishment of view. All right view, too, is accomplishment of view.
