[1109] Of the five aggregates (khandha), how many have an object (sārammaṇa), how many are without an object (anārammaṇa)? … Of the seven minds (citta), how many have an object, how many are without an object?
The form aggregate (rūpakkhandha) is without an object; four aggregates have an object.
Ten sense bases (āyatana) are without an object; the mind base (manāyatana) has an object; the dhamma base (dhammāyatana) may have an object, may be without an object.
Ten elements (dhātu) are without an object; seven elements have an object; the dhamma element (dhammadhātu) may have an object, may be without an object.
Two truths (sacca) have an object; the truth of cessation (nirodhasacca) is without an object; the truth of suffering (dukkhasacca) may have an object, may be without an object.
Seven faculties (indriya) are without an object; fourteen faculties have an object; the life faculty (jīvitindriya) may have an object, may be without an object.
Nine roots (hetu) have an object.
