[12] Therein, which feeling (vedanā) is inferior and superior? Unwholesome feeling is inferior; wholesome and indeterminate feeling is superior. Wholesome and unwholesome feeling is inferior; indeterminate feeling is superior. Painful feeling is inferior; pleasant and neither-painful-nor-pleasant feeling is superior. Pleasant and painful feeling is inferior; neither-painful-nor-pleasant feeling is superior. The feeling of one who has not entered attainment (samāpatti) is inferior; the feeling of one who has entered attainment is superior. Feeling subject to taints (āsava) is inferior; feeling free from taints is superior. Or else, taking this or that feeling in each case, feeling should be seen as inferior or superior.
