[635] "Percipient of light (ālokasaññī)": Herein, what is perception (saññā)? That which is perception, perceiving (sañjānanā), the state of having perceived (sañjānitatta) — this is called perception. This perception is bright (ālokā), open (vivaṭā), pure (parisuddhā), and cleansed (pariyodātā); therefore it is called "percipient of light."
