[675] "Equanimous, mindful, dwelling in pleasure" — herein, what is equanimity (upekkhā)?
That which is equanimity, the being equanimous, the looking on with equanimity, the neutrality of mind (citta) — this is called equanimity.
Herein, what is mindfulness (sati)?
That which is mindfulness, recollection, … right mindfulness — this is called mindfulness.
Herein, what is pleasure (sukha)?
That which is mental ease, mental pleasure, the easeful, pleasant experience born of mind-contact, the easeful, pleasant feeling (vedanā) born of mind-contact — this is called pleasure.
Thus, endowed with this equanimity, with this mindfulness, and with this pleasure, he moves, proceeds, maintains, keeps going, keeps himself going, goes about, dwells. Therefore it is said: "Equanimous, mindful, dwelling in pleasure."
