[691] "Space is infinite": herein, what is space (ākāsa)? That which is space, what pertains to space; the void (agha), what pertains to the void; a gap (vivara), what pertains to a gap; that which is untouched by the four primary elements (mahābhūta) — this is called space. In that space he places the mind (citta) and settles it; he pervades it as infinite. Therefore it is said: "space is infinite."
