[822] Therein, what is knowledge of the ownership of kamma (kammassakataṃ ñāṇaṃ)?
"There is what is given; there is what is offered; there is what is sacrificed; there is fruit and result of actions (kamma) well done and ill done; there is this world; there is the other world; there is mother; there is father; there are beings who are spontaneously reborn (opapātika); there are in the world ascetics and brahmins who fare rightly and practice rightly, who, having realized this world and the other world for themselves by direct knowledge (abhiññā), make them known" — the wisdom (paññā), the understanding, … non-delusion (amoha), investigation of dhammas (dhammavicaya), right view (sammādiṭṭhi) that is of such a kind: this is called knowledge of the ownership of kamma. Excepting knowledge in conformity with the truths, all wholesome wisdom that is subject to taints (sāsava) is knowledge of the ownership of kamma.
Therein, what is knowledge in conformity with the truths (saccānulomikaṃ ñāṇaṃ)? "Form (rūpa) is impermanent (anicca)," or "feeling (vedanā) is impermanent," or "perception (saññā) is impermanent," or "volitional formations (saṅkhārā) are impermanent," or "consciousness (viññāṇa) is impermanent" — the acceptance in conformity (anulomikā khanti), the view (diṭṭhi), the approval (ruci), the opinion (muti), the consideration (pekkhā), the reflective acceptance of dhammas (dhammanijjhānakkhanti) that is of such a kind: this is called knowledge in conformity with the truths.
Wisdom in the four paths (magga) is the knowledge of one endowed with the path.
Wisdom in the four fruits (phala) is the knowledge of one endowed with the fruit.
