[866] Therein, what is excessive desire (aticchatā)?
The wanting of ever more (bhiyyokamyatā) in one who is not content with any kind of robes, almsfood, lodging, and medicinal requisites for the sick (gilānapaccaya-bhesajja-parikkhāra), or with the five strands of sensual pleasure (kāmaguṇa): any such desire (icchā), act of desiring, excessive desire, lust (rāga), strong lust (sārāga) … strong lust of the mind (citta) — this is called excessive desire.
