[905] Therein, what is thought (vitakka) connected with sympathy for others (parānudayatāpaṭisaṃyutto vitakko)?
Here someone dwells in close association with householders — rejoicing together with them, sorrowing together with them, happy when they are happy, pained when they are pained — and when tasks and duties arise, he personally takes up the exertion himself. Whatever thinking (takka), thought, … wrong thought (micchāsaṅkappa) therein is based on the household life (gehasita) — this is called thought connected with sympathy for others.
