[964] Therein, which are the four arisings of craving (taṇhuppāda)? Craving (taṇhā), when it arises in a bhikkhu, arises on account of robes; or craving, when it arises in a bhikkhu, arises on account of almsfood; or craving, when it arises in a bhikkhu, arises on account of lodging; or craving, when it arises in a bhikkhu, arises on account of existence in this or that state (itibhavābhava). These are the four arisings of craving.
