[965] Therein, which are the four ways of taking a wrong course (agati-gamana)?
One takes a wrong course through desire (chanda); one takes a wrong course through hatred (dosa); one takes a wrong course through delusion (moha); one takes a wrong course through fear (bhaya). That wrong course (agati) of such a kind, the taking of a wrong course, the going by desire, the going by faction (vagga-gamana), the going like water (vāri-gamana) — these are the four ways of taking a wrong course.
