[967] Therein, which are the four ignoble modes of speech (anariyavohārā)? Speaking of the unseen as seen (adiṭṭhe diṭṭhavāditā), speaking of the unheard as heard (asute sutavāditā), speaking of the unsensed as sensed (amute mutavāditā), speaking of the uncognized as cognized (aviññāte viññātavāditā) — these are the four ignoble modes of speech.
