[989] Therein, which are the five fears (bhaya)? Fear regarding livelihood (ājīvakabhaya), fear of disrepute (asilokabhaya), fear of timidity in assemblies (parisasārajjabhaya), fear of death (maraṇabhaya), fear of a bad destination (duggatibhaya). These are the five fears.
