[1025] [Opponent:] Is it not to be said that the abandonment (pahāna) of all fetters (saññojana) is Arahantship (arahatta)?
[Theravādin:] Yes.
[Opponent:] But have not all the fetters been abandoned by the Arahant?
[Theravādin:] Yes.
[Opponent:] If all the fetters have been abandoned by the Arahant, then indeed, good sir, you should say that the abandonment of all fetters is Arahantship.

The householder as Arahant; an Arahant simultaneously with rebirth (upapatti);
all the Arahant's phenomena (dhammā) are free from taints (anāsavā); the Arahant
endowed with the four fruitions; likewise
with the six equanimities; a Buddha through awakening (bodhi); and¹
the one endowed with the marks (lakkhaṇa) is a Bodhisatta;
one who had entered the fixed course (niyāma), who had lived the holy life (brahmacariya);
the one practising, endowed with the fruition;
the abandonment of all fetters is Arahantship.
