[1030] Sakavādin: Does a trainee (sekkha) have the knowledge (ñāṇa) of one beyond training (asekkha)?
Paravādin: Yes.
S. Does the trainee know and see the state (dhamma) of one beyond training; is it seen, known, and realized by him; does he enter and dwell in it; does he dwell having touched it with the body?
P. It should not be said thus. …
S. Is it not the case that the trainee does not know and does not see the state of one beyond training; that it is unseen, unknown, and unrealized by him; that he does not enter and dwell in it; that he does not dwell having touched it with the body?
P. Yes.
S. If the trainee does not know and does not see the state of one beyond training; if it is unseen, unknown, and unrealized by him; if he does not enter and dwell in it and does not dwell having touched it with the body — then indeed it should not be said that "a trainee has the knowledge of one beyond training."
