[1099] [P.] "Should it not be said that the four formless states (āruppā) are unconditioned (asaṅkhata)?"
[S.] "Yes."
[P.] "But were not the four formless states declared by the Blessed One to be imperturbable (aneja)?"
[S.] "Yes."
[P.] "If the four formless states were declared by the Blessed One to be imperturbable, then indeed, sir, you should say that the four formless states are unconditioned."
