[1310] Sakavādin: Does hatred (dosa) arise with reference to the Deathless (amata)? Paravādin: Yes. Sakavādin: Is the Deathless a basis for hatred, a basis for anger (kopa), a basis for repulsion (paṭigha)? Paravādin: It should not be said thus. … Sakavādin: Is it not the case that the Deathless is not a basis for hatred, not a basis for anger, not a basis for repulsion? Paravādin: Yes. Sakavādin: If the Deathless is not a basis for hatred, not a basis for anger, not a basis for repulsion, then indeed it should not be said that "hatred arises with reference to the Deathless."
