[1355] Sakavādin: Is all mind (citta) followed by thought (vitakka)?
Paravādin: Yes.
Sakavādin: But were not three kinds of concentration (samādhi) spoken of by the Blessed One: concentration with thought and with examination (savitakko savicāro samādhi), concentration without thought and with examination only (avitakko vicāramatto samādhi), and concentration without thought and without examination (avitakko avicāro samādhi)?
Paravādin: Yes.
Sakavādin: If three kinds of concentration were spoken of by the Blessed One — concentration with thought and with examination, concentration without thought and with examination only, and concentration without thought and without examination — then indeed it should not be said that all mind is followed by thought.
