[1368] [Sakavādin:] "Is one endowed (samannāgato) with the past?" [Paravādin:] "Yes." [S.] "But has not the past ceased, departed, changed, gone to its setting, utterly vanished?" [P.] "Yes." [S.] "If the past has ceased, departed, changed, gone to its setting, utterly vanished, then surely, good sir, it should not be said that 'one is endowed with the past.'"
