[1545] S.: Is craving for dhammas (dhammataṇhā) not the origin of suffering (dukkhasamudaya)? P.: Yes. S.: Was not greed (lobha) declared by the Blessed One to be the origin of suffering, and is not craving for dhammas greed? P.: Yes. S.: If greed was declared by the Blessed One to be the origin of suffering, and craving for dhammas is greed, then indeed, sir, you should not say: "Craving for dhammas is not the origin of suffering."
