[1569] P. Is it not to be said: "Noble form (ariyarūpa) is derived from the primary elements (mahābhūta)"? S. Yes. P. But was it not said by the Blessed One: "Bhikkhus, whatever form there is — the four primary elements and the form derived from the four primary elements (upādāya-rūpa)" — and does such a sutta indeed exist? S. Yes. P. If so, then noble form is derived from the primary elements.
