[1619] [Sakavādin:] "Are the four taints (āsavā) not subject to taints (anāsava)?" [Paravādin:] "Yes." [S.:] "Are they the path (magga), fruition (phala), Nibbāna, the path of stream-entry (sotāpattimagga), the fruition of stream-entry (sotāpattiphala), … a factor of awakening (bojjhaṅga)?" [P.:] "It should not be said thus. …" [P.:] "Should it not be said that the four taints are not subject to taints?" [S.:] "Yes." [P.:] "Do there indeed exist other taints, by which taints those taints are subject to taints (sāsava)?" [S.:] "It should not be said thus."
