[1675] Sakavādin: Is form (rūpa) a result (vipāka)?
Paravādin: Yes.
S.: Is form to be experienced as pleasant (sukhavedaniya), to be experienced as painful, to be experienced as neither painful nor pleasant; is it associated with pleasant feeling (vedanā), associated with painful feeling, associated with neither-painful-nor-pleasant feeling; associated with contact (phassa) … associated with mind (citta); does it have an object (sārammaṇa), and is there for it adverting (āvajjanā) … aiming (paṇidhi)?
P.: It should not be said thus. …
S.: Is it not the case that form is not to be experienced as pleasant, not to be experienced as painful …; that it is without an object (anārammaṇa), and that there is no adverting for it … no aiming?
P.: Yes.
S.: If form is not to be experienced as pleasant, not to be experienced as painful …, if it is without an object and there is no adverting for it … no aiming, then indeed it should not be said: "Form is a result."
