[1700] P. Should it not be said, "All this is due to kamma"? S. Yes. P. But was it not said by the Blessed One: "By kamma the world goes on; by kamma this generation goes on; beings have kamma as their bond, like the linchpin of a chariot as it rolls along. By kamma one gains fame and praise; by kamma, loss, slaying, and bondage; having understood that kamma as that which makes for diversity, why should one say, 'There is no kamma in the world'?" Is there indeed such a discourse (suttanta)? S. Yes. P. Well then, all this is due to kamma.
