[1726] [Sakavādin:] Should it not be said, "What is given to the Buddha is of great fruit (mahapphala)"?
[Paravādin:] Yes.
[Sakavādin:] Is not the Blessed One the foremost of two-footed beings (dipada), the best of two-footed beings, the chief of two-footed beings, the supreme among two-footed beings, the most excellent of two-footed beings — without an equal, the equal of the unequalled (asamasama), matchless, without parallel, without a rival among persons?
[Paravādin:] Yes.
[Sakavādin:] If the Blessed One is the foremost of two-footed beings, the best of two-footed beings, the chief of two-footed beings, the supreme among two-footed beings, the most excellent of two-footed beings — without an equal, the equal of the unequalled, matchless, without parallel, without a rival among persons — then indeed, sir, it must be said, "What is given to the Buddha is of great fruit."
