[1727] Sakavādī: Should it not be said that a gift given to the Buddha is of great fruit (mahapphala)? Paravādī: Yes. Sakavādī: Is there anyone who is the equal (samasama) of the Buddha in virtue (sīla), in concentration (samādhi), in wisdom (paññā)? Paravādī: There is not. Sakavādī: If there is no one who is the equal of the Buddha in virtue, in concentration, in wisdom, then indeed, sir, it should be said that a gift given to the Buddha is of great fruit.
