[1738] S. Should it not be said: "The Dhamma was taught by the Buddha, the Blessed One"? P. Yes. S. But was it not said by the Blessed One: "Sāriputta, I might teach the Dhamma in brief; Sāriputta, I might teach the Dhamma in detail; Sāriputta, I might teach the Dhamma both in brief and in detail — but it is those who can understand that are hard to find"? Is there indeed such a discourse (suttanta)? P. Yes. S. If so, then indeed the Dhamma was taught by the Buddha, the Blessed One.
